Pemex

Every gas (petrol) station in Mexico is a Pemax station (with the exception of a half dozen new ones on the border with the U.S.) as they are a state run monopoly. That doesn't mean, however, they all thrive. Even though there are often two or three in the space of a couple of kilometers, this station on our bay has not been functional since our arrival more than five years ago. I keep thinking they might bring it back as the signs are still in place, but it is slowly being reclaimed by the elements. Time will tell if it totally goes away or if the country monopoly takes another go at it.
