THE PLIGHT OF THE SWAN

We have spent the day at the Rutland Bird Fair. This picture of Mr.MS7 with a Bewick's swan made out of lego was to highlight the plight of the swan.
Between 1995 and 2010 numbers of migrating swans from arctic Russia to Northern Europe plummeted by more than a third from 29,000 to just 18,000.
Sacha Dench will be flying with the swans (paramotoring) so she and the expedition team will see for themselves why swans are unable to survive the migration journey. The journey Sacha will undertake is 7,000km and will last as long as 10 weeks.
