A bit of a mouthful
Undeterred by the rain this little squirrel continued its mission to strip all the hazelnuts from the tree next door. It seems to be running off to bury a high proportion of them and I'd be curious to know how many of these get forgotten in the months ahead and turn into little hazel bushes. Given the amount of bird-feeder raiding these little chaps can do in the suburban environment I have serious doubts that the burying stuff for winter imperative is anything more than hardwired behaviour.
