Bonus Day!

Well, I am glad to report that I had a good night and am feeling better after yesterday's trip to the vet!  And today the vet called to say that the test didn't show up anything that needed a prescription so we were free to travel. Yes, we had planned to leave today, which was making us all very sad. Since the vet's call came after 12 noon, Mum and I decided to stay another day and leave tomorrow so we can get an earlier start.

So - today was a bonus day!  Yay!  And what would we do for an outing?  Mum and me asked if we could go back to Gamla (Old) Linköping - as we had gone there on the very first day we'd arrived and we wanted to see it again.

This is an open air museum. All the buildings are genuine but have been moved here from other parts of the city. There are real shops and restaurants and people actually live in many of the buildings (with a long waiting list). But it's also a very interesting place to walk around and visit as a tourist. It was a bit drizzly when we arrived. Not many people around which was actually nice. The humans looked in a few of the shops (taking turns - not sure why poodles are not allowed in?). Then we decided it was tea-time!  Even though we hadn't long had Fika!  But Mum said we were on holiday so that was OK!  

We found a nice place to sit in a gazebo-type thing and mum went in to order the tea and came out with a selection of traditional Swedish cakes. Wow!!  And just in the nick of time too!  It started to downpour right after that including several loud claps of thunder. But we were happy and dry and warm in our sheltered spot.

It almost stopped raining and we went for a forest walkie around the village. Just like we did on the first day we arrived. Alice and I still got a bit wet but all in all it was a great outing!  

Mum has now put some things in the car in preparation for our journey south tomorrow. That was very sad.  We BOTH wish we could stay!  We then had another delicious dinner cooked by Elisabet. And of course finished off by some Lickin' Liver ice-cream!  (The humans had Lingonberry flavour instead. We had a taste but I can assure you - the Lickin' Liver is better!)
