Cairn

While Mrs TT was at yoga, I decided to take a slightly more strenuous walk to the Pic d'Alzina.  I only met a couple of people all morning until I joined up with the path that leads to the waterfalls.  I had taken the precaution of telling others where I was going and had the usual kit in my rucksack as well as my mobile.  Too many people wander off into the mountains unprepared; in fact I have heard the helicopter overhead on several occasions in the last few days. The sun had not reached its zenith and the dappled shade in the woods was very pretty.  The route is well marked but the cairns are always useful.  On some unmarked routes they are a godsend.
