To the 4 strangers who kindly gave me lifts in their cars along the Watendlath road to help me sort out the car's puncture. 

Thank you for the offers of bottled water, to the AA call centre, the chipper AA man, and the garage for fitting me in and changing the emergency tyre back.  Thank you all. You helped get me back on the road. 

Thank goodness it was a lovely sunny day and such nice people had decided to visit Watendlath tarn today. 

NB - mobile signal doesn’t extend any further than Surprise View!  And, the hamlet of Watendlath has been without landline for over a month and it is 3 miles from the hamlet to the (main) B road.
