The Capitol

It was an early start today to get to our flight at noon to Sacramento. It was 7 goodbyes for a couple of years. After some some suitcase shuffling to get our weight distributed (ahem), our 2 hour flight took us right over 3 volcanoes beginning with Mt Rainier. 

We had taken a short hike partly up it almost 20 years ago, below the snow level. For the past week or so, it was just on the horizon so it was great to see it up close. I reckon we went straight over Mt St Helens so did not see it, it being the most recent to blow it's top several decades ago.

The bus into the city from the airport was surprisingly free and quick, and we were in the hotel 60 mins from landing. We've briefly been to Sacramento before twice, but are spending an extra day here this time. Ms H got to choose our dinner setting tonight, to celebrate her exam results just ourselves, and she chosen an indian restaurant. We walked back past The Capitol looking splendid.
