Hidden corners…

Chapel Court, Hospital of St John the Baptist, Bath

St John's Hospital in Bath, Somerset, England, was founded around 1174, by Bishop Reginald FitzJocelin  and is among the oldest almshouses in England. The current building was erected in 1716 and has been designated as a Grade I listed building… The site now includes Chapel Court, and still operates to provide a home for over 100 of the local elderly poor and make grants to individuals and organisations in and around Bath.” Wikipedia

Another warm and humid day... Toff was back in the shade under that Hydrangea, but I had to head into Bath, (along with half the world!), to The Min to see my specialist, followed by a spot of retail therapy in the sales! On my way back to the bus, I took a shortcut and found myself at the entrance to St John’s Hospital. I have never noticed this colourful courtyard before, and will definitely have to return for a closer look when I have more time. It still surprises me how many hidden corners of Bath there are, still waiting to be discovered…
