What a wonderful wonderful day!

My friend Sharon had a very special birthday yesterday and her husband John organised an amazing day, full of friends & family, events and surprises. We started out with breakfast for about 50 people at their house and then in the afternoon there was a boat trip on the Thames, starting and finishing in Windsor.

These lovely chaps were keeping an eye on all of the activity on the river. I was torn between this photo and the Boveney Lock Flower Pot Men. There were also glimpses of medal winning rowers and beautiful scenery. One fabulous building had Russian Olympic kit hanging out on a washing line. It was a reminder of how close we were to Dorney Lake.

In the evening there was a dinner and dance and we were allowed to watch the most amazing hour of British athletics... ever! What a fantastic day for British sport!
