Cafe Stop
It was a very early start to the day. With a 06:10 flight from an airport over an hour away, I was picked up by the taxi at 2.30 am!!! Next stop was a village a few miles away to pick up a couple of friends and the last stop at Tring for the fourth member of the group; then Bernie our driver headed (at speed) for Stansted airport. the one advantage of being at an airport early is that it's not overly busy - so we were having breakfast at 4 am!
Flight out good but Ryanair (say no more!) was nothing special and the business+ gave no advantages whatsoever; fortunately, I had bought this ticket as it was the best way of getting seat and luggage. - but don't bother if you can get that a cheaper way. Fast track bag drop ...No, Rapid boarding - sort of, first off - definitely not. I can't think why I expected anything else.
Arrival in Perpignon was easy - small airport - and minimum bureaucracy. Hire car pick up also straightforward and the drive heading towards our venue was easy. Close to Tuchon we stopped for a coffee in Paziols as we didn't want to arrive too early at our friends' house; whilst in the coffee shop I managed a bit of street photography of the locals and have experimented with some different treatments.
We have had a lovely day with plenty of wine, laughter and fun - including a wine tasting. A tough evening lies ahead.....
