Maritime History Day

A look at Aberdeen's Maritime history today with former colleagues started with a visit to the Maritime Museum, followed by a visit to the Tolbooth Prison and rounded off with a harbour tour.

The photographs all come from the Harbour Tour part of the day. The number of ships moving around in the harbour rather interfered with the tour as our small boat got stuck in traffic. Consequently the our took longer than planned, but also did not get round the harbour as much as it should have done. At least that means the harbour is still busy!

A803 is a Dutch naval research vessel. The Sea Cloud ll is a passenger cruise liner. The Viking is painted on the side of the ferry running between Aberdeen and Shetland.
