A Field of Flax

Our historian friend had been telling us that the townland of Brahalish was a flax growing area in the past and weavers had come to the area from Co. Armagh in the north. Interesting to think that the landscape would have looked so different in the past. To my surprise on the way to work we passed a field of the delicate blue flax flowers, now I'm curios as to who is growing them and what for? They certainly look very beautiful and flax oil and seeds are a best seller in the shop, must investigate!!
