Happy Valley (backblip, Monday)
We had our first outing to Happy Valley on Monday. I fear that it may well be our last, as we shall not be on the big island with a car again and the RV is way too large for going up there. Actually, with it being such a good day, we had a bit of a squeeze fitting the car in!
The main reason for the trip over was to get Nell's passport sorted out. She was very good at the vet's, though stressed. We made sure that she had a treat to associate with the trip and took her straight to Binscarth. Then we popped over to Happy Valley before picnicking by the side of Harray Loch.
A run over the hill road for a view of the other side of Orkney (now somewhat obscured by a rising haar) rounded the day off nicely before the hell that is Tesco/Lidl but i did at least come home wit some of Tesco's stone-baked Corn Bread and a hunk of Cave- aged Goat cheese to go with that. We had a fine supper, washed down with a bottle of Leffe Brun.
The holiday continues. Yesterday the barbecue saw the light of day again. It has done good service this year.
Hope the extras today make up for the recent absence of images (another photo from Happy Valley, a couple of the loch from our picnic spot, and the view from the top of the hill road)
