Cup-cake heaven!
In spite of poor weather forecast it was lovely this morning so took off for York.
Visited the art gallery to see an exhibition of Art & Music. Great idea, paintings varied and good but the music playing in the background was a twanging stringed instrument which jarred the senses, mine at least. Well, I didn't care for it so said so. Gratified to hear that a number of people had expressed the same view.
Decided on a mid-morning treat and remembered a small newly opened cafe tried on our last visit. It stands in a quiet area behind the Minster and beyond where the masons are working. The speciality is cup-cakes of all kinds making choice pleasurable but difficult. The enthusiastic young woman was pleased to see returning customers and we exchanged notes on Blip and the like. I took several shots but settled on the window close-up as representing the style, it's gorgeous!
A wander round then in the last of the sunshine. Before long a crack of thunder overhead was earsplitting and then the rain fell in torrents. Thankfully it was relatively short lived.
Late lunch then back to comfort Bracken, she doesn't like thunder. (looked after in the morning by the family next door!)
Thunder still rattling around the area, fingers crossed for good weather again next week, hope it's not too much to ask.
