Last Day
Last day of my leave today. It was supposed to be a lazy day, and having learnt from my neighbour yesterday about the local problems of black spot on roses, I determined to tackle mine this morning. I got half a bush done before an elderly lady walking by stopped to chat. Joan is 88 and happy to fill me in on some old time stories of the area from her 57 years of living here. As we chatted Sharon with her 2 children and new puppy also happened by and stopped to talk. As Joan took her leave, Sharon told me she had moved in up the road a few months ago. We both agreed that it was the best move, but that we missed our friends and the 'popping in for a cuppa' with neighbours. Maybe this will be the first local friendship.
Dog, who has been poorly with upset tummy for several days took a turn for the worse
And I booked a vets appointment for late afternoon.
Sue and Roger arrived at 1pm and as soon as Mr L was home from work we all went to the Pilot for a fish and chips lunch. Lovely food and company.
A nice vet gave dog the once over and declared that it could be gastro- enteritis or pancreatitis and offered us a choice of treatments. I mentioned that she was the expert and should be recommending one or the other but she wasn't going to do that! We opted for treatment at home with anti sickness pills, anti biotics and anti diarrhoea pills. Chicken little and often. Have him the pills when we got home and he has been asleep ever since!
Picture is a flower from the garden as with the lazy day I had no time to think about photos!
