CARPET SNAKE/PYTHON

We were on a spring blossoms mission in  the nearby Botanical Gardens when we came upon this large carpet snake basking and digesting in the sun on some leaf litter.  He, or maybe she, had an enormous extend belly, so we guessed that an unfortunate possum or a large rat was inside! He/she will take several days to digest this lot.  After a few minutes he raised his head and lazily slithered further under the bushes.  He was at leat 2m long from head to tail.  I took some closeup shots  of his head and beautiful markings, but Blip won't upload them as extras today. I'll post them  tomorrow.
