Listening
I went back to the lovely spot where I saw the Water Vole a week or so ago. It was a real Summer's day. I could hear a distant rumble of traffic, and the low of cows in a nearby field, but the best sounds were the cawing of Ravens overheard, the buzzing of insects around me, the clatter of Dragonfly wings amongst the reeds, and the unmistakable plop of Water Voles into the water (there is one peeping through the sedge in extras). I saw at least 3 kinds of Hawker and 2 kinds of Darter. I think this one is a Souther Hawker - I'd be happy to be corrected.
