Teenage spots?

The two young foxes were out and about early this evening and I noticed for the first time that the larger one has distinct white spots in its fur - I've no idea if this is a normal or healthy thing for foxes. The extra shot is if an enterprising little squirrel who seems to be on a mission to single-handedly strip all the nuts from the tree in the garden next door
