Scabious

On the western flanks of Arnside Knott is an area known as the Cowslip Field. Many years ago the National Trust made a big effort to keep deer and rabbits out of this area.

The result is a succession of flowers starting with cowslips then later with orchids. Now we have got to betony and the one shown in this picture Small Scabious.

My extra was one of several taken late yesterday evening on the way home from helping with the grandchildren in Stockport. Regular readers will be pleased to know that our son's major spine op went well and he is making very good progress.
