I and I will change the mood

The good thing about blip is it is helping me to document things that would be quite easily forgotten otherwise. This is certainly the case for today's blip.

I wanted to get a good picture of genuine reggae legend Cornell Campbell who we went to see last night in MacSorleys, who are putting on loads of Jamaican themed stuff (it's on Jamaica st...) just now. But I was totally steaming on 65% proof Jamaican rum which they had on special, so I didn't. This ticket stub will therefore have to serve as a visual momentum to the evening, and this blip will help me remember it tomorrow, when all the brain cells I damaged last night are gone for good.

After properly skanking it up to Cornell for an hour or so, we left when he had finished and the DJ stuck on some dubious chart reggae, including one by Shaggy. Then it was Subclub, which I haven't enjoyed so much for years - I'm too old and cranky to want to be in that sweaty, claustrophobic, loud environment that often. But it was brilliant last night, just one of those times where everyone was there. Chris and Laurie, best friends who have moved to London (pah, London) were up and it reminded me how much I really miss them both. Ah well.

So after Subculture we got in the taxi queue, where I called a woman who was pointlessly verbally abusing a beggar ('go back to your own country' etc etc) an obnoxious See you Next Tuesday. She didn't take very well to this, shall we say, but fortunately for me her bloke seemed to agree with me, and neither of them beat me senseless. But sometimes it just has to be said.

Then we danced to a variety of classic tunes in Conor and Emma's kitchen till 7.30am, finishing off remaining beer and rum supplies. This was my highlight. And overall that was my weekend of the year so far, no competition.
