Portable Stocks
A lovely morning nipping into the new Novium museum in Chichester.
These movable stocks were made for the Chichester Corporation in 1828 and were used to punish drunken and disorderly behaviour. Offenders placed their arms and legs in the stocks and were wheeled through the streets.
I saw these and thought of my very good friend Gazweasel. It's been too long!
