A glorious day for a walk along the fabulous beach at South Shields. View along the beach and across the Tyne to Tynemouth.
A great day and, as Olympics performance subsequently showed, a truly golden day. I even think there were more people out on their bikes than normal. The Olympic effect? Maybe.
