Ascent of Mont Ventoux

What a day. 45 km of tough cycling before we arrived at the base of Ventoux, with the 22km ascent of the mountain ahead of us. The gradient for the most part of the climb is 5-7%, and the last 6km is between 8-11%. It's a spectacular ride, with the famous, seemingly endless, lunaresque landscape around you for that last 6km. I'm knackered, but so glad that I did it. You can see Mont Ventoux from everywhere around here, all 1912m of it. Whenever I see it from now on, I'll feel a bit like Neil Armstrong must've done, every time he saw the moon. Well, kinda...
