Ragged Blossom

Following an unfortunate present for her 7th birthday, Im has become a huge May Gibbs fan....

I suggested she should go as Snugglepot or Cuddlepie for the upcoming book parade (a tease, since I knew she wouldn't want to romp naked in front of everyone, with or without a gum leaf for protection) - to which she replied, if she went as anyone she would go as Little Obelia.

It struck me, as I took this photo of her in her favourite tree, that she looked more like Ragged Blossom , especially as she was run a bit ragged with yet another ear infection (the back story of the glamourous scarf given her by her grandmother and wrapped around her head)

Here, she could be using her skipping rope to lassoo a Banksia Man.

This shot was actually my favourite, but more Cruella than Obelia...

PS For those who may be interested, she is actually going as Andy Griffith from the 13th Story Treehouse, or Mel from Bad Dreams, depending on her whim on the day of the book parade. Neither of these characters actually demands a costume, so all good :)
