Pals

A birthday treat for Adam, at his request, atrip to the beach at Pals and a paella at Sol Mio.

The one restauarant in Catalonia where you are guaranteed a welcome, guaranteed a perfect paella of unvarying quality, but never guaranteed a table.

Even through the crisis this unpretentious place, nestled on the corner of the beach, attracts customers like horseflies are attracted to what is good for the garden. Run by a widow and her two sons it is a gem of a find and should have been on my list of recommendations long ago.
