Field of Gold

A beautiful morning spent at the allotment.  I  must be a bit more of top of things there as, from time to time, I am finding the time to sit on the bench and admire my plants and the view beyond.  This morning I was enlarging one of the beds and laying down some weed suppressing matting around the edge of the bed.

The afternoon was spent cooking quiche, fruit cake, plum tart and making jellies with blackberries in them (the first harvest of blackberries from the hedge in my allotment).  Before dinner I walked along the old railway line; it is so tranquil along there in the early evening as the sun catches the grasses in the surrounding fields.  Home to have dinner and catch up with the Olympics.
