Late afternoon on Boulby Hill

We are back in the Whitby are for two weeks and after a mostly cloudy day, at about five 'ish, the sun  at last showed itself, as you see here.
And for a change the air was free of the blue haze that we get so often on this coast, we stopped and chatted with a local chap who lived on the hill and he said how much he enjoyed living in the cottage in the picture that he is spending his retirement renovating.
Not for me, I have to say, but at least he has a gorgeous view to look out on.
He told us that at this time of year as the sun goes down, for about an hour at sunset, the far cliffs glow red with the reflection off the sea.
Magic!
For those not familiar with the area, the village in the middle distance is Staithes (pronounced Stayerths) where Captain Cook the man who discovered Australia, was apprenticed in a shop before going to sea and eternal fame.
