Pastels!

It's been raining all day here...which is a good thing cos the ground is very dry, and in parts of Nova Scotia we have some out of control wild fires...not a good situation at all!   So bring it on is what we say!  Especially after being so blessed with a perfect day yesterday for the Festival!   Still smiling at our achievement.

I've been painting this morning...and as is often the case, i have no idea what will come out onto the paper, i'm trying to be in the process and so i enjoy it so much....but then i step back and see something that doesn't quite hang together. 

Himself has often commented that he looks at cropped aspects of a larger painting and then uses that as a take off point for another one.   I'm going to be more diligent and try it - so here are a few examples of parts of the painting i've been exploring today!
