Zedfest 2016
It was one of the larger meet-ups for the BMW Z sports car community today. Two on-line clubs sharing a venue at Shepshed Water Mill in Leicestershire, meeting up with their cars side by side. Over 140 cars with a mixture of Z3's (many of which are approaching twenty years old) and Z4's with a lonely, but rare and valuable Z1. That's the one whose windows and doors drop into the bodywork instead of opening like conventional doors.
This is a group of three rare Dakar yellow Z3s. Always a draw for the supporters of the marque. Three fine examples except for the flies collected on their journey there.
Its great to wander around and look at all the cars, while essentially the same, are in fact slightly different, either from new or modified and improved over time. I managed only a few photos today - I spent much of the long day talking. No high speed driving and showing off - a nice leisurely drive there, meeting lots of old and new friends, lots of talking about many things, jokes and laughter with our online sparring partners and a nice gentle poodle home again.
The additional photo is a group shot of many of the ZRoadster.Org members there.
A nice Sunday.
