Breakfast by the beach?
I woke early this morning despite being up until midnight to watch the rowers complete a great regatta. I do get really annoyed with the reporters, many of whom seem to know nothing about the sport they are "covering", who think that Emma Twigg (4th in the single sculls)) and Andrea Hewitt (6th in the triathlon) have failed. The interviewer of Ms Hewitt seemed determined to make her cry by persistently asking what went wrong. Sixth at the Olympics is not a failure.
Left just over a half hour before the sun rose and went down to the beach front, and all the way along. I was treated to a wonderful Snells Beach morning sky. I've chosen this one because of the light catching the picnic table, and the colours in the sky were about their brightest.
The tide was high, and what sand there is at high tide was almost completely covered by sea weed from the stormy weather of the last couple of weeks. Not being a sand runner, I wasn't inconvenienced; I did see someone picking his way through the heavy weed.
Women's marathon tonight. and Valerie Adams in the Shotput. Plus all the other fine athletes in their events.
