Speke Hall
Had a lovely visit to Speke Hall with my friend Janet. It was really busy as it was a games weekend where everyone especially children could try all sorts of sports. We saw fencing, climbing, equestrian with an electric horse, archery, golf, martial arts, yoga and tai chi. I loved watching the little girl copying the adults doing tai chi.
We had a walk around the house and so I have put a few of the photos in the collage. The wall paper was hand printed William Morris. The black statue of the woman was found behind a school after it closed down and was brought here. The table is a fertility table and we were told a woman claims to have got pregnant after touching it. Needless to say we didn't!!!! Mind you it would be a miracle!! I loved the bedroom, it's so busy and probably very cold and uncomfortable you wonder how anyone gets to sleep.! The bathroom was literally a bath room and the newspaper was from 1871. We had a walk by the river and watched a couple of planes taking off as Speke Hall is next to Liverpool Airport. A great visit and lovely day.
