THE EKKA 2016

The annual agricultural  exhibition in Brisbane, known as the 'Ekka' runs for 10 days and finishes tomorrow. I love the first day when the show ring is full of hundreds of prize cattle for judging. The young lads who come in from farms hundreds of miles away have a busy time grooming,feeding and exercising their charges. They bunk down above the stalls and often have to be awake in the wee small hours if the cable need attention. So, they can be forgiven for falling asleep in the winter sun.  There is glamour too, in the wool and natural fibres fashion parades.
