Sitting Pretty

Someone out there is going to tell me what this bird is. I went down to the beach at my usual haunt in Kilmichael and was about to come away with a few hopeful blips when a flash of movement caught my eye as this little fellow alighted on the thistles. Managed to fire off 4 frames before he decided ir was time he was away somewhere else about his business. First inclination was that it must be a skylark but on checking the websites and viewing the photos, I am no longer at all sure. Any ideas you guys out there?
