Pipes and drums

We took the train into Glasgow today to hear the bands in George Square.   Tomorrow the World Pipe Band Championships take place in Glasgow Green, and all week there have been events throughout the city.  We were away so this was the only time we could hear the bands.

The weather has been similar to Rio - wet and windy - but it didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the bands or the spectators, although there were fewer this year and it was a shorter programme.

.....and it rained!!!!

Met a lady from Ottawa Canada and she was thoroughly enjoying our damp wet weather as in Ottawa it is 40C just now it seems.
