Antonine Wall

As part of wander round Scotland (abridged version), we stopped off at Callander House. It was lovely there, and as an added bonus, they have a section of the Antonine Wall in the grounds.

We got to visit the Antonine Wall last night, when Jane got us slightly mislaid when we were taking photographs of the Falkirk Wheel, and we ended up at Rough Castle. But, it was dark and we didn't see much!

I like history, and the Antonine Wall is an amazing feat. It was mainly turf and wood, and whilst most of it has gone, there is still evidence that it was there, such as at Rough Castle, or Callander House.
