Tug-a-war

One of the oldest sports in the Olympic games - here we see Team Kookaburra having a tug of war over a skink (I think). 

Not content to pull quietly, they were making the most horrendous din - until the dreaded Paparazza disturbed them and they flew off in different directions, each clasping half a skink.

The action for the event took place in the Belair National Park - a new arena for the sport.

So we had a dead heat in this event, and each of the Kookies won gold.  the medal ceremony was marred by a small black dog, tugging on the lead - I think she was bored.
