The Spalentor in Basle is the most magnificent and impressive of the three surviving entrance gates to the old walled city, which date back to 1400. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful city gates in Switzerland. I just passed it by car and couldn’t take a more accurate picture - perhaps another time when I’m here as a subject again.
