The Atlantic Wall
At various points along the Atlantic coast of France are these concrete relics from the Second World War.
They are old look out points and gun emplacements which were built by the Germans to defend against attack.
Collectively they are known as the Atlantic Wall. With the erosion of the coast, many of them have been undermined and broken up or collapsed onto the beach. This one is near Montalivet-les-Bains.
