Morelia

We equated Morelia with "big city". While it is true over a half million people live there compared to Patzcuaro's 80,000 and there are many large churches and old buildings, there are also quiet streets like the one shown here. This street is just one block south of the main east-west thoroughfare, which is always choked with four lanes of stop and go traffic. I think the reason this street remains calm is that there is so little on street parking. It seems any street around the historic center that features parking on the street is jammed with vehicles looking for an illusive ope spot. I have done that on both our trips to Morelia, but have finally gotten smart and programed a perfect little parking lot into my GPS. It makes me look froward to our next trip to this beautiful city instead of stressing about where I'm going to put our Mountaineer.
