Going-to-the-Sun Road and Glacier National Park
We drove up to the Logan Pass for a longer hike, but we dragged the clouds after us and as there was no visibility we gave up on the scenic hike in the "Garden Wall" (that would have been with hundreds of others anyway). Instead we chose a hike a bit lower down the pass, leading us through a scenic burnt-down forest (see extra no. 2) to two waterfalls. Pretty! I nearly stepped on a snake once!
In the afternoon at Many Glacier we had three sightings of in total six grizzly bears!
Sighting no. 1 was a mama bear with cub, that I managed to snap some rather not great pictures of (see extra no.1). I need a new telephoto lens!
The other two sightings were both close to the road: One solitary bear munching away, who had cars lined up in front of him, and he was close enough that I didn't want to step out the car to get a good shot of him (that would have given proper awesome pictures though!), and two nearly-grown-ups with their mom, that had a car in front of them with passengers happily snapping away, and two of the bears were already standing upright on their hind paws, doing a "You staring at me?" pose. We were not getting too close then...
