Happy birthday ....

Today is pa-in-laws 87th birthday.
Visited him tonight, with my brother-in-law and his wife and the home-made cake made yesterday. Presents and cards opened, cake and a cuppa, and my brother-in-law and his wife gave him a lovely photo of his grandsons wedding that he missed (due to feeling umpty). Shame he missed it, and it would have been nice of him to have apologised but for whatever reason he didn't mention it. I think the older people get, the more selfish and insular they become and don't take in that their action (or non action) can be very hurtful and upsetting to others (particularly family members). Not making excuses for him in any way, but he has been seen by the GP today and has a chest infection.
