Summer's Lease is soon run out

Summer's lease is soon run out
In cream and pink and gold.
This chill that fills the August eve
Is Arctic air I'm told.

The jet stream dances like a charm
And brings to Scotland drenching.
If I could think a word to rhyme
My jaw would be unclenching.

Evenings run their bitter course
The sun in equal measure.
But Summer's lease brief though still
Is full of condens'ed pleasure.

Dream on, dream on of foreign climes
Of ever better weather.
When Brexit comes he'll chill the heart
And spin us all together.
