Everything Must Go

My Dear Fellow,

Princes Street loses another of what was (for me) one of its landmarks. I suppose HMV has been on its last legs for some time. We all stream and download now. No-one buys CDs anymore.

I don't feel old about this. I'm too busy still feeling old from when they stopped making VHS tapes.

I have fond memories of HMV (and the long-gone Virgin Megastore) (and the long-gone John Menzies). I used to go there all the time in the 90's and so I thought I'd pop in to their "everything must go!" sale to take a picture of their mural which features "Trainspotting" only to get home and realise I've completely missed it out.

Eff.

But look. There is a spool of tape in the middle there. I think that alone makes this of historic significance. Youngsters will never know the pain of having to rewind with a pencil because the batteries were going.

I think that is probably a good thing.

So anyway. Fond memories, blah blah blah.
