F for Fort Grey
We cycled with a picnic lunch and ate it at Cobo, then cycled on to Fort Grey at Rocquaine. Fort Grey is also know locally as the Cup & Saucer. It is a martello tower, now a ship wreck museum, with a surprising variety of objects recovered from the wrecks. The information panels tell the gripping stories surrounding the disasters which date from the HMS Sprightly in 1777 to the Vermontborg in 2003. It was low tide again this afternoon.
