days I'll remember

North Berwick

These are a few of the pipers who were taking part in today's North Berwick Highland Games. With a bit of traditional east coast haar thrown in for good measure.

A blisteringly hot morning in Edinburgh saw us jump in the (newly-washed, straight after breakfast, what got into me?) car and drive to North Berwick, where we were greeted by that traditional Scottish east coast phenomenon - haar; thick mist sucked in off the sea by the high temperature over the land.

So no sitting out on the deck, instead we stayed inside the Seabird Centre with our coffees and cheese scone; only one cheese scone as we had an almightily heavy Thai curry last night that was still digesting.

Back home it was toasting again so onto our own back deck for a bit of sun-worship. And as if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, we'll be having two hours of Midsommer Murders tonight - bring it on, Barnaby!
