Fractal cauliflower

Or is it a broccoli - helpfully Google knew what I meant by 'green spiral cauliflower' and I found out this is called Romanesco broccoli, although it's a type of cauliflower. I suspect cauliflowers and broccoli are not so different after all.

It's been a long day of photography, doing a series of shoots in different locations for an exciting job working as the photographer for a book that will be published some time next year - there are to be several more days of photography for that job over the coming months, but it has got off to a good start which is always a relief. This striking vegetable was shown to me by the head gardener at Attingham Park's walled garden (they also grow melons in bras there - really) on the final location stop of the day.
