Festival time in Edinburgh

I'm in the nation's capital today to go to the opera - Bellini's 'Norma' with Cecilia Bartoli in the title role. Sadly, Cara had to stay in Glasgow, where Charlie is in charge of the entertainment. Here, the city is absolutely heaving with people, or maybe it's just that I'm no longer used to crowds. This is the High Street, part of the Royal Mile. Lots of street theatre (and showers, but it has been that sort of summer).
