Nature Red in Tooth and Claw

We're redecorating at the moment and I've been looking back at my photos to find some for the wall. Despite my assertions to the other half that "He was only giving his little friend a ride", this one didn't make it onto the "Photos I'm allowed to put on the wall list". Great White Egret and I think a water vole.


This is an old shot I took when visiting my cousin on Cape Cod. Taken at the fantastic Parker River Reserve in Newburyport Mass, this Great White Egret flew into the reeds across the road from where I was parked. After a few successful darts which yielded small fish, he came up with this large rodent. 

It took him a while, but eventually "Ratty" was breakfast
