Beach to Beacon 10k 2012

The race is always inspiring. This is a snapshot of the first of the elite men to come tearing down Shore Road. Our house (and water station) is at the 4 mile mark. Which means these runners were running a 4:30 pace or so!

Shortly after, the elite women blew by, and then the pack of runners became so thick it was a wall of people for at least a half an hour, maybe more. There are 7000 runners, at least, who run in this race each year. As the pace slows, the runners start looking like they are having fun. Lots of thank yous and smiles, especially for the kid with the hose spraying them all down. (It's 81 degrees (F) already and very humid)
I've run this race but I prefer to watch the elite runners. Awesome!
