There Were Tears
We went and saw Butterfly's day care centre when she was dropped off before we started heading home.
Lunch was at a very nice farm shop on the A66 (overseen by the owl in its castle).
That was before we hit the delays caused by roadworks and before we phoned a coach firm about one of their drivers doing his best to intimidate a car driver into letting him past (in stop/start traffic 200 yards before the end of a stretch of dual carriageway).
It only took half an hour to get through the delays as opposed to the hour and a half that was announced on the radio just before we hit them.
An ice-cream and comfort stop was required when we reached Lockerby.
We then went to the Memorial Garden for those killed in the air disaster.
That is where I shed my tears.
It may have been in 1988 but I still have some horrible visions imprinted on my brain and could take you to within a few feet of each of the bodies I found on that day.
I have no idea of the names of those poor souls and to be honest, I have no wish to know them (for my own reasons which I don't think I could explain properly) - but I know they are on that list so they will not be forgotten and there will always be somebody watching.
